Wedding Prep Timeline
Congratulations! Your Wedding Countdown begins today. You may be starting your wedding preparation (wedding prep) to-do list. This will definitely include shopping for wedding dresses, determining the perfect honeymoon getaway. Plus during your wedding prep you will be looking for the perfect venue for your ceremony and reception. There is so much to think about. Make sure your wedding prep includes all that you need to help you look and feel your best on your big day.
Whether you are the bride, a bridesmaid, a mother of the bride or groom, or a guest of the wedding party, this post will help you get that wedding prep timeline just right. That’s why we created a month-by-month countdown!
Wedding Prep: 1 year before the wedding
As the title says, Preparation is key! One of the first things to nail down one year before the wedding is the venue. At the same time, it is never too early to begin self-care to help your skin glow for the big day. Consult with our Elite Nurse Injector, Kristie Foushee RN for expert recommendations on botox and filler for fine lines and wrinkles at the beginning of your wedding preparations.
It takes time to find the perfect regimen for you and see the results on your big day. She can recommend skincare to even your skin tone and pigment (or treat acne, rosacea or skin oil issues). Has plastic surgery crossed your mind? If you were considering cosmetic procedures like liposuction, breast implants or breast reduction, then schedule your consultation with board-certified female plastic surgeon Dr. Tannan so we can time your results to be ready for the big day. Wedding prep should be fun, not rushed. The same rule applies for plastic surgery.
Balance your mental well-being with your physical well-being during the wedding planning. Marti Leone, owner of The Pavilion at Carriage Farm in Raleigh recommends “adding a wedding coordinator on day one if you are feeling overwhelmed! A stellar coordinator will help balance budgets, ease decision fatigue, and serve as extra hands to lighten the load.” Less stress = beautiful skin on your wedding day!
Wedding Prep: 6 months before the wedding
While you are finalizing your guest list and invitations, prioritize yourself as a part of your wedding prep, too! Let’s help you get ready for all those wedding photos you are scheduling. This means improving your skin texture, evening your skin tone and tightening your pores. Chemical peels scheduled back to back could really kickstart your glow. This investment of time helps achieve maximal results with minimal risk to you (compared to more aggressive lasers that can negatively impact your pigmentation).
While we are on the topic of your skin, wrinkles don’t show up overnight. Similarly, it takes time to calibrate the treatment just right. We want you to look natural and shine. This takes a few sessions spaced out over time. That way we tweak the regimen to meet your needs and your budget during your wedding prep!
Speaking of taking time to see the results, this applies to plastic surgery results, too. Thinking of having a tummy tuck, or a breast reduction with liposuction, or a breast augmentation in preparation for your wedding? Minimize the appearance of swelling on your wedding day by planning ahead. There is no “last day” to have plastic surgery before your wedding. To have the best chance at having your breast implants drop and fluff in time, and having the swelling from lipo be minimal, you should have your plastic surgery procedure no later than 3-6 months before your wedding.
Wedding Prep: Countdown begins 3 months down before the wedding
Three months before the wedding, stuff is getting real! Now is when we lessen the intensity of any skin resurfacing as part of your wedding prep. This means we can do one last chemical peel as a part of your wedding beauty prep. Then we want to let the skin heal and reveal that youthful glow. We would like to get your botox just right and ready to go in all the right places. You should be bright-eyed and smiling on the big day.
If we are trying to treat a gummy smile, turn your frown upside down and lift the corners of your mouth or plump your lips, this is the best time to do it. This way we can minimize any bruising you can get from injections in the face. Also those muscles around the mouth are small and sometimes need different doses of botox per side. It’s nice to know we can always come back and add more in time for the wedding day.
Regarding surgery, we would like to see your breast implants start to drop and finalize your implant massage by now. Perhaps you had a tummy tuck, a breast lift with implants, or a breast reduction earlier in your wedding prep. We want you to work on reducing swelling after surgery with lymphatic massage for areas treated with liposuction as part of your wedding beauty prep (like the bra fat roll, the flanks or your love-handles and back). If you had a BBL this gives us time for Nurse Injector Kristie to add Renuva to fill any areas where we wish we had just a little more volume.
Wedding Day!
TIME TO SHINE!! LET ALL THE WEDDING BEAUTY PREP pay off and enjoy your glow. You should take a moment today and be centered and grounded in you. Don’t stress, don’t sweat it. This day is for you and your partner, and everyone is there to celebrate you and your promise to one another. We hope that you make memories that last you a lifetime, and that this day is even more spectacular than you imagined.
