Women in Wellness Interview with Authority Magazine
Recently, I had the joy of sitting down with Wanda Malhotra from Authority Magazine’s Women in Wellness to discuss the passion I have helping women. We talked about my work as a board certified, female plastic surgeon and how what I do helps women feel more confident and beautiful. I recognize that women face many challenges in balancing work, family, and personal life. Sometimes, these challenges can take a toll on a woman’s self-esteem.
That’s where I believe plastic surgery can play a role. Cosmetic procedures can help a woman address physical concerns that are bothering her, and this can lead to a big boost in confidence. It’s important to remember that cosmetic surgery is a personal decision, and for some women, it can be a transformative experience.
That said, it’s not just about our appearance. During the Women in Wellness interview, I went on to share several tips that I think are incredibly important for well-being. Read on for a summary below!
Women in Wellness: 5 Tips Towards Better Well-Being
True beauty and well-being go beyond physical appearance. That’s why I incorporate a holistic approach into my practice. In the Women in Wellness interview, I shared five lifestyle tweaks that can help people feel better overall. These tips are just a starting point, of course, but they can be a great way to improve your physical and mental health.
- Make time for yourself. Even if it’s just a few minutes each day. This can be anything from taking a relaxing bath to reading a good book. It’s important to find activities that help you de-stress and recharge. No, its not realistic to expect to get a massage every day. But set a realistic goal, something you can build into your routine. Try 5 minutes of mindfulness when sipping your morning tea or coffee to start your day off right.
- Prioritize physical fitness. Exercise is a great way to improve your mood, energy levels, and overall health. Find an activity that you enjoy, whether it’s going for a walk, dancing, or playing a sport. Don’t be discouraged if the first thing you try is a bust. There are so many options from group fitness to doing videos at home or building a home gym. Be patient and find what works for you.
- Adapt to your changing needs. As you go through life, your needs will change. It’s important to be flexible and make adjustments to your self-care routine as needed. For example, you may find your body needs less cardio/aerobic exercise and perhaps yoga or pilates are more restorative for you as you move through life. Your knees may not be able to carry you to run the way you used to and you can consider pivoting to something else like swimming for a similar workout. Check in with yourself and see what feels right to you.
- Take time to unplug from technology. In today’s world, it’s easy to get constantly bombarded with information and stimuli on devices for work and pleasure. Give yourself a break from screens and social media from time to time. This can help you to relax and focus on the present moment, and enjoy the people right in front of you.
- Cultivate relationships with friends, family, and loved ones. Strong relationships are essential for our well-being. Make time for the people who matter most to you. Nurture your relationships and let the people in your life know how much you care about them.
By following these tips, hopefully you will be on your way to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Embrace Your Authenticity
Finally, I want to emphasize the importance of authenticity. In our society, it’s easy to get caught up in comparing ourselves to others. But it’s important to remember that you are unique and valuable just the way you are. Don’t try to be someone you’re not. Be true to yourself and your values. When you embrace your authenticity, you’ll start to feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin.
